S.Q-Amirone(Amiodarone HCL) Uses:

Amiodarone HCL tablet is the generic form of the brand-name drug S.Q-Amirone, a drug indications are as below:

  • Atrial arrhythmia (atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, and maintenance of sinus rhythm after transfer).
  • Arrhythmia.
  • Ventricular arrhythmias (treatment of life-threatening ventricular premature contractions and ventricular tachycardia and prevention of ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation).
  • Arrhythmias with W-P-W syndrome
  • Based on its pharmacological characteristics, amiodarone is suitable for arrhythmias as described above, especially in patients with structural heart disease (coronary insufficiency and heart failure).

Side effect:

  • Signs of the eye: Common: Micro-precipitation of the cornea, which occurs almost universally in adults, is usually restricted to the area under the pupil and does not suggest a taboo for treatment.
  • Signs of the skin: Common: photoallergic reactions. During amiodarone treatment, patients are advised not to be exposed to sunlight (as well as ultraviolet light).
  • Thyroid signs: Common: Hypothyroidism with typical performance: weight gain, chills, indifference, drowsiness;
  • Neurological signs: Common: tremor or other extrapyramidal symptoms. Sleep disorder at night. Sensory, motor or mixed peripheral neuropathy.
  • Signs of Liver: Common: Transaminases generally have moderate, solitary increases (1.5-3 times the normal value) that can be restored after reduction of dose, or even self-recovery.
  • Cardiac effects: Common: Moderate, dose-dependent bradycardia.
  • Gastrointestinal effects: Common: Benign gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting, dysgeusia) usually occur during initial treatment and the symptoms disappear when the dose is down-regulated.

Warning:

  • Sacral bradycardia and sinoatrial conduction block without pacing therapy are disabled
  • Pacing-free sinus node disease (risk of sinus arrest) are disabled
  • High atrioventricular block without pacing therapy are disabled
  • Hyperthyroidism due to amiodarone may lead to deterioration of hyperthyroidism are disabled
  • Known to be allergic to iodine, amiodarone, or excipients are disabled
