S.Q-Cefota(Cefotaxime Sodium) Uses:

Cefotaxime Sodium powder for injection generic form of the brand name drug S.Q-Cefota, a drug indications apply to pneumonia caused by sensitive bacteria and other lower respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, meningitis, sepsis, abdominal infections, pelvic infections, skin and soft tissue infections, reproductive tract infections, bone and joint infections. Cefotaxime can be used as a drug of choice for meningitis in children.

The incidence of adverse reactions is low, about 3% to 5%.
There are rashes and drug fever, phlebitis, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and so on.
Alkaline phosphatase or serum aminotransferase increased slightly, transient blood urea nitrogen and creatinine increased.
Leukopenia, acidic granulocytosis, or thrombocytopenia are rare.
Occasional headaches, numbness, difficulty breathing and facial flushing.
Very few patients can develop mucosal candidiasis.

Allergic to cephalosporins and penicillin anaphylactic shock or immediate reaction history banned this product.
Allergy tests are required prior to administration.
Cross-allergy: Allergic to a cephalosporin or cephamycin may also be allergic to other cephalosporins or cephamycins. People allergic to penicillin or penicillamine may also be allergic to this product.
This product and aminoglycoside can not be infused with the bottle.
People with impaired renal function should be used with caution when reducing doses; Patients with gastrointestinal disorders or renal dysfunction should be used with caution.
Interactions:

The combination with gentamicin or tobramycin has a synergistic effect on pseudomonas aeruginosa;
The combination with amikacin has a synergistic effect on Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
When used in combination with aminoglycoside antibiotics, renal function should be followed during treatment.
When high-dose cefotaxime is combined with strong diuretics, attention should be paid to changes in renal function.
Cefotaxime can be diluted with sodium chloride injection or glucose solution, but it cannot be mixed with sodium bicarbonate solution.
Combined with azlocillin or mezlocillin can reduce the total clearance rate of this product, and if the two are combined, the dosage should be properly reduced.
