S.Q-Melocam(Meloxicam) Uses:

Meloxicam tablet is the generic form of the brand-name drug S.Q-Melocam, a drug indications are symptomatic treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, symptomatic treatment of painful osteoarthritis (arthropathy, degenerative osteoarthrosis).

Side effect:

  • Gastrointestinal: indigestion, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, diarrhea.
  • Blood: Anemia
  • Dermatological: itching, rash;
  • Central nervous system: slight dizziness, headache;
  • Cardiovascular: Edema
  • Genitourinary system: Abnormal renal function (increased serum creatinine and/or serum urea).

Warning:

  • Allergic persons known to have active ingredients of meloxicam or its excipients may have cross-allergic reactions with acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs.
  • Patients with asthma, nasal polyps, angioedema, or herpes after using acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs should not use meloxicam dispersible tablets.
  • Active peptic ulcer are disabled
  • Severe liver insufficiency are disabled

Interactions:

  • Oral anticoagulants, ampicillin, systemic use of heparin and thrombolytic agents can increase the likelihood of bleeding. If the combined use of drugs is unavoidable, the effect of the anticoagulant must be closely monitored.
  • Lithium: NSAIDs are reported to increase lithium plasma levels. Therefore, it is recommended to monitor plasma lithium levels when starting to use, adjust, and deactivate meloxicam dispersible tablets.
  • Methotrexate: Similar to other NSAIDs, meloxicam dispersible tablets increase the hematological toxicity of methotrexate. In this case, it is recommended to strictly monitor the number of blood cells.
  • Diuretics: When NSAIDs are used, acute renal insufficiency may occur in patients with diuretic dehydration. Therefore, patients receiving meloxicam dispersible tablets and diuretics should be supplemented with sufficient water and renal function should be monitored before the start of treatment.
  • Anti-hypertensive drugs (eg, beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, vasodilators, diuretics): It has been reported that the effect of anti-hypertensive drugs is reduced by the inhibition of vasodilatory prostaglandins during treatment with NSAIDs
