S.Q-Propane(Propafenone hydrochloride) Uses:

Propafenone hydrochloride tablet is the generic form of the brand-name drug S.Q-Propane, a drug used to treat symptomatic supraventricular tachycardia, such as atrioventricular junctional tachycardia, WPW syndrome with supraventricular tachycardia or paroxysmal atrial fibrillation; Critically-stimulated ventricular tachycardia that needs to be treated or fatal by a physician.

Side effect:

  • Common adverse reactions: circulatory disturbances, manifested as postural hypotension or orthostatic hypotension after prolonged standing, especially in elderly patients with concomitant cardiac dysfunction, patients may also experience adverse reactions such as chest pain.
  • Common adverse reactions of the gastrointestinal system: gastrointestinal discomfort, such as loss of appetite, nausea, retching, bloating, constipation, abdominal pain, dry mouth, mouth pain, mouth hemp. When the initial dose is relatively large, it will dry easily.
  • Psychological aspects: common adverse reactions: anorexia
  • The nervous system: Common adverse reactions: syncope, paresthesia, dizziness, dizziness

  • When propafenone is used to treat paroxysmal atrial tachycardia caused by rapid ventricular rate (above 180 beats/min), atrial fibrillation may turn into atrial flutter.
  • Like other Class Ic antiarrhythmic drugs, patients with severe heart disease
  • Even taking regular doses of propafenone can affect people’s ability to drive, operate machine capabilities and work safely in hazardous environments.
  • Allergic to other ingredients of the active ingredient propafenone hydrochloride are disabled.
  • Patients with obvious heart failure are disabled.
  • Patients with severe symptoms of bradycardia are disabled


  • Combined with quinidine can slow down the metabolic process.
  • Combined with local anesthetics increases the occurrence of CNS side effects.
  • Propafenone increased serum digoxin concentrations and was dose-dependent.
  • In combination with propranolol and metoprolol, the plasma concentration and elimination half-life can be significantly increased without affecting propafenone.
  • Combining with warfarin can increase the blood concentration of warfarin and prothrombin time.
  • In combination with cimetidine, the steady-state level of propafenone plasma was increased, but there was no effect on its electrophysiological parameters.
